Did you have a Mac keyboard replaced? Apple might owe you money!

If you own a MacBook that was introduced between 2015 and 2019, you may be eligible for a payout as part of a class action lawsuit settlement regarding the Butterfly Keyboard that was filed in federal court in San Jose, California in 2022.

Apple has agreed to pay $50 million into a Settlement Fund, which will be distributed among the members of the class action lawsuit after deducting attorneys' expenses, service awards, and other fees. The payout varies depending on the class group, with those who had their keycaps replaced receiving $50, those who had the entire keyboard replaced getting $125, and those who had to order a keyboard replacement more than once potentially earning up to $395.

It's important to note that the MacBook must have been taken to Apple or an authorized service provider to be eligible for the payout. This lawsuit only covers MacBooks purchased in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, or Washington.

To apply for the payout, you must submit an application by March 6, 2023 through the KeyboardSettlement.com website. If you want to exclude yourself from the class action lawsuit, you must do so by February 10, 2023. If you do nothing, you will not receive a payout.
